Society sees a disabled woman who is pretty and outgoing as a kind of clownish doll, a bright moppet. Why I have chosen to own this and do flips within it, to use it rekindle the erotic imagination--well, I look to Bowie to understand. I will not say Rest in Peace Bowie, because I know he has expanded, an animate energy, all across the sidereal curve of earth, and that he also flares out in the most outlandish gestures of small-time weirdo performers like myself.
